Gun safety fail

This is what not to do with a firearm. If his finger was off the trigger then no "boom boom" would happen. Don't be this guy, or the idiot hyena behind the camera for that matter.

Firearm fatalities at an all time low

Chance of a child dying in a firearm accident is roughly 1 in a million.

The data is from 2008, but it was just released. Just for a reality check here are some other figures regarding death.

Odds of dying:

Motor Vehicle Accident = 1 in 84
Pedestrian Accident = 1 in 626
Bicycling Accident = 1 in 4,919

Data recently released by the National Center for Health Statistics shows that in 2008, the number and per capita rate of firearm accident deaths fell to an all-time low. There were 592 firearm accident deaths (0.19 such accidents per 100,000 population) in 2008, as compared to 613 accidents (.20 per 100,000) in 2007. In 2008, the chance of a child dying in a firearm accident was roughly one in a million.

Magpul shotgun accessories!

Magpul has announced some new accessories for Remington 870 shotguns. I love how they can take a great piece of hardware and turn it into a futuristic looking piece of bad ass. Well played.

The MOE Forend is a drop-in replacement for the standard Remington 870 12 gauge pump, featuring extended length and front/rear hand stops for improved weapon manipulation. Compatible with MOE rails, mounts, and accessories, the MOE Forend adds modularity to the proven Remington 870 platform for sporting use, home defense, or on duty.

The SGA Stock is a user-configurable buttstock designed to add much-needed adjustability to the tried and true Remington 870 platform. Featuring a spacer system for length of pull adjustment, improved grip ergonomics, recoil-reducing butt-pad, optional cheek risers for use with optics/raised sights, and other accessories, the SGA 870 brings Magpul design and engineering to another classic American firearm.

More details coming mid-January 2012.

Alien prequel?

Thank god for Ridley Scott, the legendary director of Alien. This movie reeks of an Alien prequel and I love it. From the title font to the shots of the derelict ship that was in the first Alien movie, it has chest-bursting death smeared all over it.

The plot reads: "A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."

Yea, a terrifying battle with acid blooded ALIENS! I am all geeked out now. I will sell Ridley Scott my soul if "Bishop" makes an appearance.

Christmas meets Battlefield 3

Wow, I haven't hung ANY lights outside. I would really hate to be his neighbor though, day or night it would be bright as hell outside. Oh and the dogs would have a heart attack.

New Ruger LCR-22 revolver

Ruger has just released its newest pocket pistol, the LCR-22. It holds eight rounds of .22 LR and retails for $525.00.

I was excited for this cool pistol until I read it costs the same as the .38 Special model. For $50.00 more you can have the .357 version. Unless you plan on shooting the hell out of .22's to save money, it may not be worth the money for this revolver. Let your wallet decide.

"The LCR has proven its worth since its introduction in 2009, and has become an extremely popular compact revolver for concealed carry," said Chris Killoy, Ruger Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Our customers asked for a rimfire LCR for low cost practice at the range, and the LCR-22 fills that need. Furthermore, this gun disputes the notion that small-frame, rimfire revolvers come with heavy trigger pulls; the LCR-22's non-stacking trigger pull is highly manageable. In fact, we believe the LCR has the best trigger pull of any factory double-action revolver on the market, and we urge our customers to visit their retailer and try it out for themselves," he concluded.

The newest LCR maintains all the features of the critically acclaimed original LCR. The 1-7/8" barrel and eight-shot cylinder are constructed of stainless steel, and the cylinder is highly fluted to reduce weight. The frame is machined from an aerospace-grade aluminum forging, and the fire control housing is molded from rugged and durable glass-filled nylon. The fire control system utilizes Ruger's patented friction reducing cam that provides a uniquely smooth, non-stacking trigger pull.

Length: 6.50"
Barrel Length: 1.875"
Height: 4.50"
Twist: 1:16" RH
Cylinder Finish: Advanced Target Grey®
Rear Sight: U-Notch Integral

MSRP: $525.00

Shock! Another California shooting (Irwindale)

What the reason was behind this? Was the shooter laid off before Christmas? He probably didn't get up, eat his Honey Nut Cheerios and say "hmmmm, I am gonna shoot up the office today".  Reports say the man was 48 years old. I would imagine he had pretty big problems. Its not like he was some 16 year old prone to making spontaneous decisions.

How safe do you feel at your job when you read these stories?

A utility company office worker shot four colleagues Friday with a semiautomatic handgun, fatally wounding two before killing himself in a business park outside Los Angeles, police said..

The shooting around 1:30 p.m. local time at Southern California Edison offices forced a lockdown of a large office complex and nearby schools as officers from surrounding cities and the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's SWAT team responded.

Three men were killed in the shooting — two bodies were found on the scene and a third died en route to a hospital. Four of the shooting victims were company employees and the fifth was a contract worker.

Expendables trailer #2

I know I have a lot of movie trailers posted lately, but come on! Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, CHUCK NORRIS, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger all in one movie?

Van Damme made it to the party this time, but still no Steven "lawman" Seagal.
Aug 12th 2012 is the release date.

"Stallone, why you no call me?"

Man throws grenades at shoppers

Liege, Belgium. A man lobbed GRENADES at Christmas shoppers this last Tuesday. He apparently didn't find the gift he wanted. Is there a grenade store in the mall or what?

A man with a history of drug and weapons offenses hurled grenades and sprayed bullets into a square crowded with Christmas shoppers Tuesday in eastern Belgium, killing at least three people and injuring scores, authorities said.

The attacker also died at the scene in the city of Liege, although the circumstances of his death remained murky. Local news reports cited witnesses who said he shot himself, though whether deliberately or accidentally was unclear.

A 75-year-old woman was also killed and at least 75 people were injured, some seriously. Belgian news reports later said that the number of those wounded exceeded 120.

Battleship trailer #2

So I been busy lately, sorry about slacking on the posts.....

Fucking A, this trailer is awesome.
So here is the deal, people would love this movie if it wasn't based on the "Battleship" BOARD GAME.

Let us discuss the awesomeness together. What do we have here?

0:25 - Big robot alien ship submarine transforming things.
0:30 - Liam Neeson. Sold! Even if this movie was him talking about geometry for 2 hours it would still be amazing.
0:32 - Naval Destroyers....because there are no active Battleships in the Navy today.
0:35 - Alien penis coming out from the water?
0:41 - Soundtrack featuring "Chasing Shadows".
1:14 - Dudes face getting re-arranged.
1:28 - Dumb Rhianna speech.
1:32 - Pissed off alien.
1:38 - Ninja break dance moves?
2:12 - Pokemon tail whip?
2:24 - Epic sea battle.

If you want some tear-jerking Academy Award winning movie then look elsewhere. I think we have a winner if you want something that looks like a feast for the eyeballs with no brain required.

Another California shooting

A man (Tyler Brehm) walking down Sunset Blvd shoots at random cars on Friday morning. He was shot and killed by police after he wounded several people in their passing vehicles.

Geez California, you would think with all your anti gun laws that no one would ever commit a firearm related crime again. Oh wait.....criminals don't obey gun laws....riiighhht.

Get ready for another round of BS legislation and outcry that responsible gun owners are evil and they all need to removed from society. The cops obviously ended the mans rampage by throwing hugs and rainbows at him.

Brehm managed to fire roughly 20 rounds, reloading his gun once, before police confronted him and ordered him to drop his weapon. Authorities said officers fired on Brehm after he kept shooting and failed to comply with their orders.

Police said Brehm injured three people, one critically. John Atterberry, a 40-year-old music industry executive, was driving his Mercedes-Benz through an intersection when he was hit by multiple rounds of gunfire from Brehm's weapon. Atterberry remained in critical condition Saturday night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Would you join the Army?

The Army recruitment website looks more like a video game
(*cough* Call of Duty *cough*) every year.

Would this website make you want to join? Do you think the Army will get more recruits with the popularity of the "Call of Duty" video games?

Take a look here.

Nuke silos on Google Earth

You need Google Earth for this to work. It is a list of nuclear facilities including ICBM (nuclear weapon) bases in the USA and Russia. You may have one in your backyard and not even know it!

As with anything on the internet, take it with a grain of salt. I would imagine more of these locations are correct than not. I have seen other sites with similar maps.

You have to download and install Google Earth, then download the .kml file at this link. You then add the file to Google Earth by going to "Add...Network Link...Browse" and import the file you just downloaded. Enjoy!

Another Virginia Tech shooting

Officer Deriek Crouse was shot and killed yesterday at Virginia Tech while on a traffic stop. He was a father of five and a Army veteran.

What a shame, I always hate hearing about a service member die in the US by some idiot. What is the deal at this school? Do we need a heavily armed police presence at all times just to deter the crazies? What do you think?

The campus shooting prompted officials to lock down the university for hours Thursday while police and SWAT teams searched the school, the scene in 2007 of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Crouse, an Army veteran and married father of five, was killed after pulling a driver over in a school parking lot. Police said the gunman was not involved in the traffic stop. Instead, he approached, shot the officer and then fled on foot before apparently killing himself in another lot.

USA sets gun sale record on Black Friday

America! Fuck Yea!

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that on November 25, the day after Thanksgiving, which is known as Black Friday, there were 129,166 requests for background checks that are required to purchase a gun in the US, a third more than the previous record of 97,848 in 2008.

Infant with Gun

Too young? I guess if they can't eat solid food it may be a little too early. It looks like the hearing protection is taken care of with the suppressor. Nice.

What age is appropriate to start teaching them about firearms?

Email from the FBI

Seriously? The FBI uses AOL now? "Open the attached .txt file?" Sent as an attachment due to a "security reason"? Hackers are getting dumber and dumber.

Agent Ronald Hosko, WHO FALLS FOR THIS CRAP? Nice AOL address guys, wait AOL is still around?

Anybody else get these crap emails?

Lease your Underground Bunker now!

Gold, pure gold. I haven't enjoyed a website this much since I first visited "The Pirate Bay". Enter Vivos, where you can get your own underground bunker to survive the end of days. Their tagline "It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark" is pure genius. Pricing starts at $9,950. People profited from Y2K, so why not profit from the current "Third World America" (<-- That shit is trademarked by me son) state of affairs.

I think this is a great idea except the chances of getting to your shelter would be very low unless it was very close to your home. Looks like Indiana and Nebraska are where they are set up currently. There is a counter on their website which must be counting down the number of days left until the apocalypse. Here is an excerpt from their site.

Vivos is a private network of impervious, underground survival shelters, built and stocked to withstand virtually any threat or catastrophe, autonomously for a minimum of one-year. Each shelter is accessible only to its actual co-owners. Co-ownership of a Vivos shelter is currently priced from just $9,950 per person.

To be considered as a co-owner, you must first become a member of Vivos. The Vivos Selection Committee evaluates each member applicant's profile for determination and candidacy of their membership.

Vivos then selects the best candidates for co-ownership of each shelter from the current pool of active members. We first look for those individuals who may best contribute to each Vivos shelter community, providing the greatest chance of long-term survival of the entire group. Each co-ownership candidate is reviewed based on a number of criteria.

I am going to apply and see if I am worthy, I do own Russian Roulette Clothing which makes "Clothing for the Apocalypse" sooo..... ah who am I kidding, I am dead lol.

Get ready for the apocalypse here.

Thug with gun beat up by skater

Its good to see the thug get beat down though.
Skaters 1, Thugs 0.

Dog shoots hunter

Mans best friend, until he shoots you in the butt.

A Utah man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the buttocks by his dog during a hunting trip.

The hunter was shot as he climbed out of the boat to move decoys in the shallow marsh area. He was hit from about 10 feet away with 27 pellets of birdshot during the incident at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.

He wasn't seriously injured, in part because he was wearing waders or thick, waterproof trousers.

In all fairness this is a pretty freak accident. The guy has some bad luck for the gun to be pointing right at his butt and for the dog to get his paw on the trigger.

My advice, give your dog the good Milk Bones next time.
