"A boy came to my candy truck..." Wait what? It seems that I stumbled across the strange part of YouTube again. This story is about kid wanting to buy a .458 rifle.

The funny thing is this could be anyones' uncle. You know the crazy one who has the nutty stories and may have recently escaped from a mental hospital?

100 Rounds from a Saiga Shotgun

5 drums of 12 gauge shotgun shells, looks like fun. Pay attention to drum #4, it brings a new meaning to the phrase "dick measuring contest". I would never put the stock of a weapon that close to my junk. Ow. Ow. Ow.

Russian Inspired AR15

This is what you get if your AK and AR rifles made a baby.

Wouldn't that be nice, guns that make other guns.

What do you get when you cross an AR with an AK? You get the Rock River Arms LAR-47, which accepts AK-47 mags and is chambered in 7.62 X 39 Russian.

The LAR-47 lower and upper are proprietary. Most of the other features are standard AR, including the two-stage trigger group, 16-inch barrel, A2 flash suppressor, ambidextrous magazine release and RRA’s 6-position tactical CAR Stock.

The LAR-47 gives you access to the heavy-hitting 7.62 X 39 ammo and AK mags all in the familiar AR platform.

ATF Confiscates Airsoft Rifles

The best part of this video is when the ATF agent says the PLASTIC guns could be converted to REAL MACHINE GUNS. Maybe MACGYVER could convert them. He would need a paperclip and a number 2 pencil though. Those are hard to come by.

Chernobyl Diaries

Finally a horror movie about the radioactive horrors of Chernobyl. My wallet is open. You hear me Hollywood? Take my money!

“Chernobyl Diaries” is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, “Paranormal Activity.” The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone.

Double Barreled .45

Its two, two, two pistols in one! In other news the Army has begun experimenting with welding two F14 fighter jets together. Early reports state that "it looks better on paper than in the sky".

The gun can be handled by any shooter able to shoot with a .45 ACP and it is not only very pleasing, but very accurate and great fun. The AF2011-A1 holds amazing and surprising target performance for the shooter: in fact, it will group all the 8 double .45 caliber rounds (16 bullets) held in the duplex, single columns magazines, in a target of the size of an orange at 15 yards and of a water melon at 25.

5 Tips For Survivng The Walking Dead

Here are 5 tips to help YOU survive the walking dead. See, we care!

Tip #1 Blades, not Bullets.

"The big misconception in a world of the walking dead is that guns are the key to survival. Unfortunately this is completely untrue for two reasons. Guns require bullets and although there will be plenty of them for you to loot and scavenge what happens when you run out or have to reload? Zombies don’t move quickly they shamble but in large numbers regardless of whether you have a .45 or a sub machine gun you will eventually empty your magazine and have to reload."

Tip #2 Ensure, It Does the Body Good.
Tip #3 Take the High Ground.
Tip #4 Small Groups.
Tip #5 Don't Be a Hero.

A Playstation Cost MoreThan A Choppa

Choppa = AK47. This song was posted in 2009. A Playstation 3 (PS3) is now CHEAPER than a AK47.

Electronics tend to get less expensive over time. Compare the current PS3 price of $250.00 to the launch price of $599.00. Prices have jumped on even the cheapest AK from $350.00 just months ago to $500.00 due to politics and the looming election. Ah how things change.

Maybe the song title needs a remix?

Creepy Robo-Cheetah is Creepy

Whats creepier than a four-legged robot? A RUNNING CHEETAH ROBOT!
Here is an earlier posting on RRC Blog with a DARPA robot here

About a year ago we got our first look at DARPA’s Cheetah ‘bot via a concept drawing that looked more like a storyboard frame for a Transformers film than real, live robotics. Today, we get to see much more than a concept. In a video released by DARPA, the Boston Dynamics-built Cheetah hits the treadmill, notching what DARPA says is a new land speed record for legged robots at 18 miles per hour.

DARPA hasn’t said explicitly what it expects from the robot or what its military application would be. (Skynet, taking over the world, human evisceration - Editor) But 18 miles per hour is just the tip of the iceberg. Boston Dynamics engineers said previously that they see no reason why their bio-inspired ‘bot can’t run as fast as their flesh-and-blood counterparts someday. That’s something like 70 miles per hour.

We’re clearly not there yet, but Cheetah does appear to be hitting its stride, flexing and un-flexing its spine as it moves just as a real cheetah does, increasing its stride and running speed in the process. Later this year Cheetah will come out of the lab and perform its first untethered, free-running tests.

Can you imagine a pack of these running around with machine guns mounted on them?

Thanks to Kevin. Now with more cheetah machines trying to maul you!

357 Barrel Blows Off

Warranty anyone? Don't worry, its only a rental. I've had a Sig .380 rental break at the range. One of the workers blew up a .308 rifle next to me on another visit. Those guns get abused like Thai hookers.

Best Gun Listing Ever!

This is one of the funniest online gun ads I have ever seen. It was posted at 3:05 AM, so you know alcohol was at hand. Read the ad below.

$19,999,999, Want to sell awesome one of a kind special Gun and ammo

Posted: Saturday, March 10, 2012 3:05 AM

I have a one of a kind Sig Sauer built Glock 40 imported by Beretta and Colt, distributed by ATI. It shoots really big .40 cal 785 grain bullets that have absolutely no recoil.(don't ask me how they do it.) The gun is absolutely BRAND NEW (we are on Back Pages no?) with just 2000 or more rounds down the pipe. It comes with nuclear powered night sights because tritium is so yesterday. The gun has had a trigger job, barrel job, flared ejection port, it was even cleaned with compressed air so i guess you can even say it had a ---- job. I had the magazine well beveled for easier insertion... I need to talk to the wife and the gunsmith about that. The trigger is ab fab... No stacking, no creep, no take up, no over travel. It breaks cleanly every time at 3.5 lbs. And if i ahve said it once i have said it a million times... I do not exaggerate. The reset is not to be believed. There is no safety on the gun because it is biometrically tuned to the owners' biorhythms. It will only fire when it senses you are practicing at a range, in the desert or scared s$&@4?!'s. BTW, did I mention it is small enough to conceal in an eyeglass case? Yet you can wrap all your fingers around the stocks. It only comes with one magazine because it holds unlimited ammo. Unfortunately and this is really the only problem with this gun is it doesn't come with any clips. Sorry.

It has almost every type of mod that can be made... I even sent it to Fiji or Tonga, cuz I heard there was a shaman there who specialized in these type of guns. Anyway I will let it go, even though this is gonna break my heart for the low, low price of $19999999 or best offer but please no low ballers. But hey... you save the tax and nics check fee. If your CCW is after July 1, 2011 I'll take $30 bucks off... See I am reasonable.

Oh and if you act now, or tomorrow I will throw in my own Brand New Reloads--9,765,473 rounds (i counted) that were reloaded by HAND! using ONLY thrice fired brass. Don't worry about the polygonal Glock rifling because the bullets aren't lead, they're uranium jacketed tungsten/titanium blend. More deadly than those Black Talons of years ago. There's no danger of cutting doctors fingers... Not because doctors don't use fingers but forceps to pull bullets out of gunshot victims but because the special uranium blend will avoid the whole going to the hospital step in the process... Straight to the morgue or fishes if u know what I mean...

5.56x45 Kills Just Fine

It seems like every few months there is a new and more powerful cartridge that is deemed "better than all the rest". I realize that there is always room for improvement when it comes to calibers and ballistics, but the 5.56 does work.

The AAC .300 Blackout is this years new hotness. The year before the 6.8 SPC was the cartridge to have.

A 5.56 bullet works just fine. It may not be the hottest girl on the block, but she will get the job done.

Do you run out and buy the "latest and greatest?"

GLOCK: The Rise of America's Gun

Based on fifteen years of research, including interviews with numerous former Glock executives, police officials, gun owners, and more, GLOCK: The Rise of America’s Gun by Paul M. Barrett tells the story of how an obscure Austrian curtain rod manufacturer stormed the American gun market and became, in the space of a few years, an American icon. GLOCK is at once a fascinating account of how Glock Inc. went about marketing its pistol to police agencies, gun enthusiasts, and America at large, as well as a compelling chronicle of gun safety and gun culture in America.

When Gaston Glock first cracked the gun industry in 1982 with the Glock 17 pistol he created to win a contract from the Austrian army, most civilian American gun owners and police officers still preferred the six-round revolver. Constructed in part of hardened plastic, which gun-control advocates and the media erroneously claimed made the gun invisible to airport security, the Glock’s construction set it apart from everything else on the market. It had none of the polish of the classic blued-steel-and-wood revolver. But the advantages of the large-capacity, magazine-loaded semiautomatic pistol soon became apparent. The Glock could fire as many as seventeen bullets without reloading.

Doomsday Vault

Located in frigid Norway and guarded by POLAR BEARS, the Doomsday Vault holds over 740,000 different types of seeds.

Theoretically you could just go and check the place out, unless the bears come and eat you. Maybe they are the nice Coca-Cola polar bears that smile and drink soda all day long. You never know.

Formerly known as the Svaldbard Global Seed Vault, the Doomsday Vault it serves as the master backup to the world’s other seed vaults. Its stores stand ready to start replenishing the world’s food supply in the event of natural disaster, water shortages, global warming or war.

The unmanned facility holds seeds that will still be viable 20,000 years from now. Commercial farming has reduced the overall crop diversity in the world, so specific diseases could potentially wipe out a large chunk of production. In that instance, the Doomsday Vault holds seeds to older strains that could be reintroduced, or that might be more resistant to pests, disease and drought.

$1000 Pistol Explodes!

Nothing would ruin your day faster than blowing off part of your own hand!
User "Fairchase" over at the reports that his $1000 FN Five-Seven handgun went KABOOM and took off part of his left hand! We wish him a speedy recovery.

Last week my FN Five-Seven blew up causing severe damage to my left hand (I am right handed). There are 6-8 pieces of shrapnel deep in my thumb and palm area which severed the nerves to my thumb and a portion of my palm. Surgery is required in an attempt to repair the hand by harvesting tissue from my leg. Wish me luck.

The “explosion” occurred on the last round of a 30 round mag loaded with the factory 40gr v-max stuff. On this particular day I only had three loaded magazines (70 rounds total) with me for the Five-Seven but had several other handguns to shoot after the Five-Seven. I began with a 20 round mag loaded with hand loads, then a 20 round mag loaded with factory ammo and finished with the 30 round mag with factory ammo. It was the very last round of 5.7x28 in my immediate possession that ruined my day ……. and a whole lot more!!

I have fired (600-700 rounds) both factory and hand loads through the pistol with zero issues since purchasing new in 2/2011. There are reports of the Five-Seven firing out of battery (OOB) which appears to be the case here but I am no weapons forensics expert. I am not a novice to shooting, handguns or reloading and have 20+ years of extensive experience with shooting and reloading.

I have been completely straightforward with FNH (i.e. Browning) so will now wait and see how they respond.
